Ants crawling up my leg.

Today I was pressed for time and rushed out for the 7:15pm bus. If you want to speed walk, you might want to stretch your legs first because it felt like ants were biting my shins after about the first half mile of speed walk. It was either rush or catch the 9:15 or drive. Neither of the other options appealed to me so it was hoofing time. Yet another kind soul offered me a ride and I have to admit, the temptation was great today. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I have come to realize this throughout this experience.

Today instead of a backpack, I carried a shoulder bag and it provided much more circulation across my back and felt less oppressive and probably looked less nerdish, but alas, it did not have my rain gear, or other survival gear I usually carry. I was woefully unprepared for anything that required more than a fresh pair of socks, underwear or a t-shirt and a novel to read.

I also opted for the audiobook today instead of reading with my eyes as I was beaten to the point of not wanting to drag them back and forth across a page. The audiobook's title is, "The Coming Economic Collapse" by Stephen Leeb and Glen Strathy. So far it's an interesting book and one that should open one's eyes to the realities of a world with $200 oil triggering both inflation and deflation simultaneously.

There's nothing worse than uncertainty except perhaps not being prepared when our worst fears materialize. What is the Boy Scout motto again? Be Prepared.
