What I'm Reading Currently

The New Kings of Nonfiction.
Still working on this one, but the few short pieces I've read so far have just about made me miss my stop on more than one occasion. There is an excellent piece called 6 degrees of Lois Weisberg written by Malcolm Gladwell regarding the phenomenon of the 6 degrees of separation that would absolutely blow your mind. A study was done and Kevin Bacon's connection rate is actually further down the list as such notable figures as Martin Sheen, who can be connected to every other actor in 2.63 steps.

Inside Passage by Michael Modzelewski.
I had the pleasure of meeting Michael on an Alaskan cruise. He brought the area's people, lands and wildlife into such sharp focus that you somehow step into his skin and see it from his eyes. I'd read books and seen pictures, but until you hear this guy speak on his experiences or take a trip to Alaska yourself, you just can't imagine the grandeur of the place. It makes other mountain ranges look like anthills by comparison.
